It's very hard to find information about this cargo management sliding truck rack and the 17802462 model, from GMC or anywhere. On last 2 gmc's about 16 years total ownership I made the racks out of 2x4's to save cost and make them easy to put in and take out. Finally I get a truck with the cargo management system and it takes slide in and out accessories. So I save up all my money, order it from shopchevyparts.com and when it arrives I see it doesn't slide in. You need to install it into the truck and you cannot take it out unless you uninstall it by removing the top rail and angle brackets and disassembling the slides, which takes about 1.5 hours for the rear track. The front track is only 4 bolts and not as bad. But this kind of defeats the whole purpose of a sliding rack. I would have been better off if I ordered the trakrack that goes on the top of the stake pockets. I am looking for another rail that I can add to the truck to make it slide in and out.
