Arai Vector-2 Full Face Motorcycle Riding Race Helmet- Black Frost Review

I did a lot of research and bought this helmet at the dealership. I had just purchased a Sport Touring Motorcycle (BMW F800ST)and I told dealer that I saw this on shelf for $699. WHOOO!!! I looked it up on Amazon then Revzilla and Revzilla had for $449.00. Dealer said "Okay, we will match that price." I said they were $250 off the mark and they claimed "It costs a lot to run a Dealership." Now, let's get this straight. NO DEALERSHIP OWNS MOTORCYCLES ON SHOWROOM FLOOR OR IN STOCK. THE DEALER IS GIVEN A CREDIT BUDGET TO PUT A BMW ON THE FLOOR AND WHEN THEY SELL ONE, BMW EXPECTS TO BE PAID. SO, WHAT OVERHEAD? SHOCKED THAT AMAZON WAS $30 HIGHER BUT I AM GETTING USE TO AMAZON PRICE FIXING SCHEME.

Helmet is great. I put it on and cheek pads (blue pad in picture)were too tight. So, you take them out and they have about 5 stacked foam pieces on each side that you can remove one at a time to get the perfect fit. I only had to remove 1 from each side (1 mm each side taken off)and perfect!!! The pad goes back in blue pad and you re-attach it to the helmet. So easy!

Getting use to the venting by chin (has two degrees of open: half or full) is tough because I wear riding gloves and have hard time telling how open it is if it actually is open. Two eyebrow vents are great but gotta find then pop open with glove. No big deal but it takes getting used to. Top vents are two stage and work well and a bit tricky to open effectively while traveling at high speeds. Cannot wait until summer and laugh at old helmet that was a deathtrap.

NO MATTER WHAT, GO TO A DEALER AND TRY ON A $449 HELMET AND YOU WILL NEVER JUMP TO A SKULL COVER (Cheapo helmet that is barely DOT Certified). Really builds confidence in riding and if I take a fall I truly believe this is going to probably save my life.
