Ford M9603V605 Cold Air Kit for Ford Mustang '07 Review

I put this Ford authorized cold air intake (CAI) on my 08 Mustang and this addition performs just as advertized at the Ford Performance Racing Parts website. A gain of about 7% hp and 8% torque. You WILL know that you have more power and responsiveness. If you are serious about putting on a CAI that is perfectly mated to you Mustang, this is it. Read all the info at the aforementioned Ford website and you will understand why a Ford engineered CAI is superior in all ways to any other aftermarket CAI kit. The installation is very straight forward and took me about 2 hours working slowly and methodically. I'd advise a skill level of basic automotive experience. Can you do plugs and wires or install a ceiling fan? If so this should be very do-able for you. Only two oddities came up. In the Ford instructions it says to replace the ABS control unit hold down bolt with a supplied stud, but there is not one supplied for this bolt. Later it says to reinstall the "original" bolt to hold the air intake in place? That large bolt won't fit through the little metal & rubber grommet supplied. Just leave the grommet off and place a large washer over the original hold down bolt and push down firmly and screw it into the original mount point. Secondly at the very end of the retuning program by the supplied Ford flash tuner, the paper instructions say to press enter then escape to finish, but the ProCal tuner will read "cycle the key". I followed the paper instruction and all was good. You must download both sets of instructions from the Ford website. None come with the equipment. Read all the Ford info first. You will need to use 91+ octane fuel, so have a tank full before you start the installation. Enjoy!
