Anderson Ultimate 5th Wheel Connection - 3200 Review

I purchased the Anderson Ultimate 5th Wheel Hitch a year ago to replace my Reese sliding 15K hitch. I have used both sliding and standard fifth wheel hitches and I could not get over the amount of chucking and bumping in both. Going over an overpass with my Reese hitch was scary as the trailer would slam around in the saddle so much it sounded like someone was beating the bed of my truck with a sledge hammer. My options were to buy a $1500 locking jaw hitch or try this $350 (last year's price) seemingly simple hitch. I can't say enough about how pleased I am. I was concerned with having to raise the trailer slightly higher to couple the rig but this has turned out to be a non-issue. I can see the ball from the cab of my crew-cab truck so lining up is a piece of cake. I do have to stop part of the way to raise my tail gate but I use this as my opportunity to plug in the pigtail and connect my safety cables. Towing is night and day. The rig feels much more solid and going over gutters or speed bumps while turning no longer causes the trailer to try to "twist" the truck. Cruising on the freeway is as smooth and quiet as I had hoped.

You can eliminate most of my complaints about my old fifth wheel hitch with a better hitch but this is the only one that solves all of the problems for under $500.

I am towing a 34 foot fifth wheel at just over 10K lbs with a 2010 F350 crew-cab, SRW, 4x4. I have a 2.5" leveling kit on the front and I have no clearance issues.

According to a technician at Anderson this hitch was crush tested at over 60k lbs whereas most traditional fifth wheel hitches crush around 20k lbs.
